It's me, again....
I watched the most incredible movie, called Ballets Russes, about the ballet companies that came from Russia by way of Paris. I really liked the way they interviewed the older ballet dancers, and the older dancers said some pretty moving things, things that made me cry. Things such as: "The dancers of today learn as many pirouettes or fuetes as possible, but they don't dance with the same warmth that we used to have. We were saturated in that warmth... we were born into it."
Sometimes I think that way about many things, such as manners, and especially, like female sexuality. I wonder, among the guys readers, those who are both male and American and straight, how many of you actually care about giving your women an orgasm? How many of you actually celebrate her and her body on its own terms without trying to control it? I am sorry-- your dick is cool, but it's not everything.
There went the end of that rant. It's funny that i'm ranting about that thing, when the Wizard was actually more than sufficient in that department, and yet of all the men in my life, he is the one who I am not talking to any more, precisely because of power struggles. It's as if we women have to give up our sexual pleasure to be able to have a certain degree of unaccountability and freedom.... that the guys make us feel guilty and possessed if they do take the time to learn about *our* bodies in their own right. Grrrrr.... THis makes me mad.
Oh, and hyde; did I mention that currently, right now, New York Timesy is on my couch, shoes off on the floor, and he is fast asleep?
Along the same lines, has anyone here read Maureen Dowd's new book? I think she is onto something, although I do not think that she uses an accurate kind of methodology. But at least when it comes to women who have their own careers, who use their own brains... she has something. Check last week's times for stuff on this.
Speaking of Times: he's still sleeping, and we talked a lot about relationships. Turns out he's still totally in love with this waaaaay younger girl form a year and a half ago! NO one likes to move on.... anyway that is it for now.
